Education in Haiti
The Haitian state’s role in primary education is uniquely low from a global perspective. Of the world’s poorest countries, Haiti is the only one in which more than 50 percent of children do not attend school, and of those who do, 80 percent are enrolled in non-state schools. The country has a total of 14,424 private schools and 1,240 public schools. Non-state schools therefore comprise 92 percent of all schools, the vast majority of which do not receive public subsidies. Since there are very few schools in rural areas, parents often wait until the child is old enough to make the long journey to the nearest school.

Water Power
Clean water revolutionizes lives by bringing powerful improvements to the health, education, and economies of entire communities. RISE Haiti is committed to bringing clean drinking water to as many local Haitian communities as possible. We have drilled 9 water wells in Vignier and the surrounding areas. And with the support of people like you, we can do much, much more!

Heart for Community
RISE Haiti is passionate about helping those most in need. We are equally passionate about shifting the mindset of Haitians to see themselves, not as helpless victims, but as hopeful visionaries. By providing jobs, education, and training, we turn locals into leaders that take responsibility for bringing positive, social, economic, and ideological change to the country of Haiti.
